How HVACPool makes money, and what that does and does not influence.
The short version: some links on this site may earn us a commission if you buy through them. It never costs you more, and it never decides what we recommend.

Why We Publish This
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires clear disclosure of any material connection between a publisher and the products it writes about. The UK CAP Code and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive require the same thing.
We would tell you regardless. You cannot properly judge a recommendation without knowing who pays for it, and a buying guide that hides its incentives is not a buying guide.
How HVACPool Earns
Affiliate commissions. Some outbound links to manufacturers and retailers are tracked. If you follow one and buy something, we may receive a percentage of the sale. The price you pay is identical either way — the commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not your pocket.
Direct sales. Where HVACPool sells a product itself rather than referring you elsewhere, the product page says so plainly.
Where a page contains commission-earning links, that is disclosed on the page itself, near the top, not buried at the bottom.
What Money Cannot Buy
- A place in a comparison or buying guide
- A higher position in a ranked list
- Removal of a drawback or trade-off from our write-up
- Editorial approval of a claim we cannot verify against AHRI, HVI, ENERGY STAR or DOE data
- A review we have not actually done
How Products Are Chosen
- Certified performance data first — AHRI, HVI, ENERGY STAR
- Then suitability for the application and climate
- Then installation, serviceability and parts availability
- Then price
- Commission rate is not a criterion and is not visible to the person writing the guide
When the Unpaid Option Is Better
Where a product we earn nothing from is the better choice, we say so and link to it anyway. If that were not true, none of the rest of this page would be worth reading.
No Sponsored Editorial
We do not accept payment for inclusion, placement, ranking or a favourable conclusion. We do not publish sponsored posts dressed up as editorial, and we do not publish manufacturer-written copy under our own byline. See our Editorial Policy for how content is actually produced and reviewed.
Prices, Stock and Orders
Prices and availability shown on this site come from third parties and change constantly, so figures here may be out of date. Confirm the current price on the retailer or manufacturer site before buying.
In an affiliate transaction we are not the seller. We cannot help with orders, delivery, warranty claims or returns for a purchase made on someone else’s site — contact that seller directly.
