Who writes HVACPool’s guides, who checks them, and what has to be true before a page goes live.
Bylines Are Not Decoration
Every guide and product page on HVACPool carries the name of the person who wrote it, the name of the person who checked the technical content, and the date that check happened. If a page makes a claim about combustion, refrigerant, electrical work or code compliance, someone qualified has read it before you did.
This page explains who those people are and what the process actually involves, so you can judge the advice rather than take it on faith.
Noman Pervaiz
Founder and Editor
Noman founded HVACPool and writes and edits its guides. His work covers the research, structure and plain-English explanation of heating, ventilation and cooling equipment for homeowners and small commercial buyers.
He is not a licensed HVAC contractor and does not present himself as one. His job is to read the primary sources properly, lay the trade-offs out honestly, and hand the reader something they can take to a contractor. Anything touching combustion, refrigerant, electrical work or code goes to technical review before publication.
Technical Reviewers
Licensed trade professionals
Technical review is carried out by working HVAC professionals holding a current licence or certification relevant to the subject of the page. Reviewers are credited by name and credential in the byline of every page they sign off, together with the date of review.
A reviewer’s role is to confirm that the physics is right, that the safety and code statements match current practice, and that nothing on the page would lead a reader to attempt work that legally requires a licensed trade. A reviewer can send a page back, and does.
How a Page Gets Published
- Research. Primary sources first — U.S. Department of Energy, ENERGY STAR, the AHRI Directory, the HVI Certified Products Directory, ACCA manuals, ASHRAE, and manufacturer engineering documentation. Competitor articles are not sources.
- Draft. The guide is written from those sources. Manufacturer marketing copy is never reproduced. Where a figure varies by model or climate, we teach the method and give a range instead of stating one number that would be wrong for most readers.
- Technical review. A licensed professional checks the physics, the safety statements and the code references, and confirms nothing invites unlicensed work.
- Edit and fact-check. Every certified rating is traced back to a directory entry for a specific model. Anything that cannot be verified is cut.
- Publish. The page goes live with the writer's name, the reviewer's name and credential, and the review date.
- Re-review. Pages are revisited at least annually, and immediately when an efficiency minimum, refrigerant rule or incentive programme changes.
Found an Error?
We would rather be corrected than be wrong. Substantive corrections are noted at the foot of the article with the date and what changed — we do not quietly edit mistakes out of existence.
